My Sweet Mom

by Shivalika Rupani

Imagine if Mothers were not there:
Who would take care?
Who would love us;
Who would stop us from making a fuss?
Who would stop us from being bad;
Who would never make us sad?
Who would give us a cuddle;
Who would give us a love bundle?
Who would be there with us when we are alone;
Who would save us from a cyclone?
Who would make us understand;
Who would allow us to play with the sand?
Who would allow us to go on the com:
Only our sweet and loving mom!
Shivalika Rupani is 9 years old and studies in class IV at Billabong High School, Mumbai, India. She loves to draw, paint, eat Maggi and write.

    My father was a quiet man,

    His nature was calm and mild.

    My father was a gentle man,

    Who always wore a smile.

    My father was a placid man,

    Who never made a row.

    A quiet man… oh, how I wish,

    He could be with me now.

    My father was a special man,

    Esteemed in his business life.

    My father excelled in commerce,

    But wasn’t valued by his wife.

    My father didn’t worry though,

    He always wore a smile.

    A quiet man, a loving man,

    He lived too short a while.

    Mother’s bosom is the safest in the world,
    With a touch of her hands
    all the pains gone.
    In my life
    i will not be able to repay
    what you have done for me.
